The question every patient asks

Who exactly performs the procedure?

Most men researching a hair transplant abroad start in the same place: Turkey. The prices look good. The before-and-afters look convincing. And then the questions start.

Is it the doctor in the photo, or a team of technicians you'll never meet before the day? What happens if something goes wrong, and you're already back home? Will anyone answer your calls in three months, when the growth isn't what you expected?

These aren't hypothetical concerns. In December 2023, the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons issued a formal statement warning about the risks of hair transplants performed by unsupervised technicians abroad. In June 2024, the British Medical Association raised the alarm over a rising number of serious complications among British patients after surgery in Turkey.

There is a different way to do this.

The medical guarantee

Doctors. Not technicians.

Your procedure is performed by a team of certified physicians, led and supervised by Dr. Joel Chara, from the first extraction to the last implanted follicle.

In many clinics abroad, the surgeon who appears in the consultation is not the person who performs your procedure. Extraction and implantation are delegated to medical technicians. Trained, perhaps, but not licensed physicians.

At Clínica Nadal it works differently. Under EU Directive 2011/24/EU, you are entitled to the same legal protections as any patient treated in Spain. You can file a complaint. Your medical records are protected under GDPR. None of this is guaranteed outside the European Union.

Why Mallorca

You could have this done in Madrid.
You chose Mallorca.

There are good hair transplant clinics in Spain. If the only thing that mattered was the medical guarantee, any of them would do. But you are not just choosing a clinic. You are choosing where to spend four or five days while your body starts a twelve-month process.

Treated in Spain, under EU healthcare standards, with the same patient rights you have at home.

Mallorca needs no introduction to most British travellers. Under three hours from most UK airports, direct low-cost flights year-round. The clinic is in Palma. Good food, calm neighbourhoods, the kind of unhurried pace that makes the first days after surgery genuinely comfortable.

One more thing worth saying plainly: a hair transplant is a personal decision. In Mallorca, there is no reason anyone needs to know why you are there.

“They'll notice the difference.
They won't know why.”

Most patients stay three to five nights.
